The Men’s Club meets every Wednesday morning and has 75 members with approximately 40 men participating each week. Our club involves men with a wide range of skills so all are welcome. Being a good golfer is not a requirement. Having fun is.
Our season runs from the last Wednesday in March until the second Wednesday in October. Each week we meet at 7:30 am prior to teeing off at 8:00. The friendly competitions, that can be found on the fixture list, culminate in the awarding of small prizes (cash or golf balls) depending on the competition for the day, which are handed out the following week in the meeting. Some of our men choose to only play 9 holes, while the majority participate in 18.
The nine hole group tees off at 09:30.
The Men’s Division also encourages those who can’t play Wednesday morning to play their event rounds the previous weekend or Wednesday afternoon. Many men stay after golf to enjoy lunch together which usually involves specials offered through the kitchen. Once a month we host an after golf BBQ. We also participate in interclub competitions, and road trips to other courses throughout the season. It truly is an active and enjoyable club.
All our participants are members of the Ardmore Golf Course with membership in the Men’s Division costing an extra $25.00 per year membership fee and we collect a $2.00 playing fee each week. These fees go towards club operating costs, such as prizes, some interclub travel costs, trophies and engraving, and so forth. This fee also includes your participation in the mixed club, should you wish to participate on Thursday evenings, although there is a $2.00 playing fee each week, for the mixed, to help cover the cost of golf balls that are awarded at the end of each evening.
We encourage new members to join us and if you think this might be for you, come out any Wednesday morning, as a guest first, to try it out.
